Job Description

SINCLAIR TRACTOR is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, organized, and very detail-oriented individual to the Durant, IA office location as Assistant Service Manager with the primary responsibility of assisting the Service Manager and Service staff to facilitate and deliver excellent service and exceed expectations. This position will perform a range of administrative and support duties related to the daily operations of the Mediapolis Service Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Opens work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintain control until they are closed and invoiced.

  • Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to invoicing.

  • Ensure timely and accurate work order transaction coordination between sales and customers.

  • Maintains service department filings and records and service library with current information (for example, files bulletins, manuals, multi-media, etc.)
    under the direct supervision of the Service Manager.

  • Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work order.

  • Maintains service accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders.

  • Customer service and interaction via phone and in person.

  • Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints

  • Anticipate Service Manager's needs and handle them proactively.

  • May prepare Service Technician labor performance, productivity, and efficiency reports.

  • May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.

  • May assist the Service Manager in coordinating and scheduling all in-house technician training.

  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • Assists Service Manager with coordinating and conducting safety meetings.

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

  • Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

  • Facilitates and Performs Parts to Shop Job Tasks at the location.

  • Leads Service Department in Service Manager's absence.

  • Maintains and organizes Special Tools Inventory.

  • Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.

  • May complete post-service work inspection checklist and approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.

  • May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.

  • This position may require traveling between branch locations when needed for corporate meetings and training.

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

  • Starting salary dependent on experience - room for growth and opportunity

    • Full-time (Hours vary based on season)
