Who We Are:
"Always be happy with where you are, but never satisfied," is a core value that serves as a strong foundation for Sinclair Tractor.

"My father, Moe, and I started the business in 1998," said Bob Sinclair, CEO of Sinclair Tractor. "He had been looking at a machinery dealership investment and needed someone to run it. My wife and I were living in Dayton, Ohio working for large corporations. We wanted to get back to rural Iowa and start a family. When my wife was offered a transfer to Iowa with Coca-Cola, we took it as a sign to jump into the equipment business."

Bob said neither he nor his dad had previous experience in the equipment industry. The first couple of years were rocky, but persistence paid off for our family.

"Today we maintain success by keeping the profits in the business and investing in our employees, customers and community," Sinclair said. "We look at our relationships with customers and employees as partnerships. For the business to do well, customers and employees have to do well also. There are no winners on a losing team."

Such a mindset has served Sinclair Tractor from the beginning. Moe and Bob first opened for business as an equipment dealership at the local fairground, primarily serving farmers. They were soon able to move to an abandoned manufacturing facility that had been renovated enough to rent. The pair worked initially out of office trailers and uninsulated buildings. Bob purchased majority interest in 2000. We have been building and upgrading our facilities ever since.
"Technology is our primary opportunity and challenge," Sinclair said. "Technology moves forward at an exponential pace. It is challenging to keep up. Technology done wrong negatively affects relationships. Technology done right is a huge competitive advantage."

Several in-store businesses make Sinclair Tractor unique to other dealers. Two of our locations include full-line NAPA auto and truck parts stores. We have three additional stand-alone NAPA locations, giving us the ability to serve more of our customers needs in one stop. We also have an agronomy team, Yield Force Crop Consulting, which provides technology-driven agronomic solutions and advice to farmers without the influence of sales, along with the addition of Sinclair Supply in 2020. Sinclair Supply provides equipment and supplies to area businesses such as local restaurants & meat processing facilities, welding shops, professional offices and many others.

Today Sinclair Tractor employees still focus on the same core competencies that were originally put in place in 1998. 1) Putting things in the proper order: God, Family, Sinclair Tractor. 2) Living the Serenity Prayer, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference." 3) Embracing the Golden Rule, "Treat others like you want to be treated."

At Sinclair Tractor, we understand that without our customers and communities we would not be in business. Our employees are members of, and invested in, our local communities. We are your coaches, firefighters, first responders, youth group leaders, national guard members, committee members and much more. We understand the youth are our future leaders and the influence we have on them today will guide their decisions tomorrow. We are very proud to support our local schools, FFA chapters, 4-H clubs, baseball and softball teams, and more.

We honestly mean it when we say, we are "Striving to EARN Your Business Every Day". Thank you for choosing Sinclair Tractor!
