At Sinclair Tractor, we're proud to support future technicians through a comprehensive tool package and tuition reimbursement for students who complete their John Deere Technician Degree. This 21-month program, offered at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, Iowa, provides hands-on training with a wide range of John Deere equipment.

Students gain in-depth knowledge of engines, fuel systems, transmissions, electronics, hydraulics, and precision ag technology. A key benefit is the on-the-job learning component: you'll alternate between classroom instruction, shop training, and real-world experience at a Sinclair Tractor location earning a paycheck while you learn. All students who graduate from the JD TECH program are guaranteed a job with Sinclair Tractor.*

The John Deere TECH program at Northeast Iowa Community College trains students in engines, fuel systems, transmissions, electrical, hydraulics, and precision ag technology.
The 21-month program rotates between on-campus training at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar, Iowa and paid on-the-job training at Sinclair Tractor. Students earn an AAS degree and multiple John Deere certificates upon successful completion of the program.

    • Eligible JDTECH students can receive an Andrew Goodman Scholarship from INEDA (Iowa-Nebraska Equipment Dealers Association) that is matched by Sinclair Tractor. Students may apply for renewal of the scholarship if they meet the outlined qualifications.

    Tools: All tools required for the program and a professional mechanics toolbox will be supplied by Sinclair Tractor. Both will become property of the student upon satisfactory completion of the Sinclair Tractor JDTECH Advantage Program.

    Tuition Reimbursement: Tuition reimbursement begins after graduation from NICC. Full reimbursement will be achieved after 36 months of continuous employment at a Sinclair Tractor location.

    FFA Benefits: A $1,000 contribution will be made to your high school FFA Chapter for graduating high school FFA members.

    By accepting this agreement, you are committing to work for Sinclair Tractor for three years following graduation. In return, your tuition will be reimbursed on a prorated basis over those three years, provided you remain employed with Sinclair Tractor. If you do not complete your degree, or fulfill the three-year employment commitment, you will be responsible for repaying your tuition and tool costs.
    NICC has student housing options that include houses or apartments near the Calmar Campus that come furnished with appliances. Students are matched with peers in similar programs.
