Semi-Truck Driver

Sinclair Tractor is seeking a safe, self-motivated individual to join the dealership team in Durant, IA as a semi-truck driver with a focus on the pick-up, transfer and delivery of Ag, Construction and Turf equipment.

At Sinclair Tractor, we pride ourselves on being the destination in Southeast Iowa for agricultural equipment, precision farming, agronomic decision support, NAPA parts, and computers. With thirteen John Deere dealerships, five NAPA parts locations and a computer service location, we are looking for motivated and talented people to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick-up new equipment from a John Deere factory.

  • Supports the Sales and Service departments with equipment pickup and delivery as needed.

  • Maintains records of pickup and deliveries and obtains necessary signatures and receipts.

  • Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy.

  • May need to maintain assigned trucks and related equipment in safe operating condition.

  • May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures of equipment as required.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

  • Candidates with Diesel and Ag equipment repair experience are encouraged to apply

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Valid Class A CDL required.

  • Clean Driving Record.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a semi-trailer truck operator, hauling heavy equipment.

  • Ability to lift upwards of 75 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

  • Daily and generally limited to Eastern Iowa with occasional trips to Rock Island, Mercer and Henderson counties in Illinois. Most John Deere factory pickups are in and or near our dealerships locations.
